Daughter won the prestigious CILECT award

Daria Kashcheeva, a student at the Department of Animation, is reaping another incredible success. The film Daughter won the competition of film schools from all over the world, which is organized by the international association of film and television schools CILECT (Center for International Liaison of Cinema and Television Schools). At the same time, the film received the most points of all films across all categories (fiction, documentary and animated film). This year, 128 film schools took part in the competition. The film Daughter thus became the absolute winner.

The CILECT award is one of the hbiggest that a film school can achieve. In the past, the following FAMU films have won this award:

2018 - 3rd place in the category Animation - "Fruits of Clouds" directed by Kateřina Karhánková
2016 - 2nd place in the category Animation - "Happy End" directed by Jan Saska
2014 - 1st place in the category Animation - "Mythopolis" directed by Alexandra Hetmerová
2011 - 1st place in the category Animation - "Graffitiger" directed by Libor Pixa

The Daughter's victory in the CILECT competition is another successful moment in the stellar path of this short animated film about the relationship between father and daughter, which continues to reap the rewards. Less than 24 hours before the news, the film won the main competition at the Still Voices Short Film Festival. The list of the Daughter's successes is expanding again, and CILECT PRIZE 2020 together with the Grand Prix Still Voices Short Festival are among the other 70 awards, including the Crystal Award of the Festival international du film d'animation d'Annecy and the Student Oscar for best international animated film. Today, the Daughter has a new record - it has been selected for 200 film competitions and shows.

CILECT was founded in Cannes in 1954 and brings together the best film and television schools in the world. FAMU has been a member of CILECT from the very beginning. One of the main pillars of this association is the idea of ​​human interconnection and its amplification by supporting and developing creativity, diversity and sustainable development. At present, CILECT brings together over 180 audiovisual educational institutions from a total of 65 countries.
