Films by FAMU students nominated for the annual Czech Lion Awards

 

The Czech Film and Television Academy (ČFTA) announced today nominations for the 28th annual Czech Lion Awards (Český lev). We are very pleased that the upcoming generation of filmmakers is largely made of our students.

Films, which were nominated for the Magnesia Award for the Best Student Film, are:

Anatomy of a Czech Afternoon by Adam Martince from the Department of Directing;
Frontier by Damián Vondrášek from the Department of Directing;
Must Be Painful by David Semler from the Department of Scriptwriting and Dramaturgy;
Pripyat Piano by a graduate of the Department of Documentary Film Eliška Cílková;
and animated film Love Is Just a Death Away by Bara Anna Stejskalová from the Department of Animated Film.

Anatomy of the Czech AfternoonBorder and Pripyat Piano are also nominated in the new category the best short film and Love is Just a Death Away received a nomination in the new category of the Best Animated Film.The documentary film Caught in the Net by Barbara Chalupová, a student from the Department of Documentary Film, and Vít Klusák, was nominated in the Best Documentary Film category.
