AS FAMU resolution on the form and method of the election of the Academic senate of FAMU

AS FAMU resolves that the election to AS FAMU scheduled for 3 and 4 March 2021 shall be held electronically. The electronic system will be open for the election from 8:00 on 3 March to 16:00 on 4 March. We recommend to the election panel to be present in the school building from 14:00 to 18:00 on 3 March and from 10:00 to 13:00 on 4 March in order to help the voters who ask for assistance with the electronic voting.

AS FAMU recommends to all members of the academic community to make sure that they know their correct login and password for the electronic system before the beginning of the election (the automated password insertion will not work on the election days). If a member of the AC finds that they forgot the password, they should contact the IT Department as soon as possible with a standard request for password change.

AS FAMU invites all members of the academic community to make sure that their vote is anonymous and that they vote electronically in a discreet way, without the involvement of other persons. Even though the election is held in this form, it has to satisfy the essential requirement to the effect that it has to be secret; otherwise, its democratic nature could be contested. The only people authorised to help voters with electronic voting are the members of the election panel, but even the members of the election panel must not compromise the anonymity of election.

For any future electronic vote, the Academic Senate of FAMU recommends that the degree of security of the electronic voting system be improved (e.g., in the field of identity verification).

AS FAMU invites the academic community to pay attention to any and all subsequent recommendations and invitations that AS FAMU may issue in connection with the election.
