FAMU Library: 40 new books from the BOOK ME exhibition

The FAMU Library offers the newest books from the November 2021 Book Me trade exhibition. There are both professional handbooks and guides for beginners at your disposal. You can find books focused on new technologies (3D Cinema, Virtual Reality Cinema), animation (Animated Performance), documentary filmmaking (Get Close, Interactive Documentary) or production and postproduction of 16mm and 8mm films. Among the new arrivals, there are titles for directors (Secrets of Screendirecting), producers (Business and Entrepreneurship for Filmmakers), cinematographers, sound designers (Four Sound Areas Framework, Shaping Light for Video), game designers and scriptwriters. We recommend Experimental Filmmaking and the Motion Picture Camera, introductory guide to experimental cinema surveying methods of production as well as the history, theory, and aesthetics of experimental approaches. The offer contains titles on history as well, e.g. study of color technics in the 1920s (Chromatic Modernity), texts about radical works in the 1970s or the Czech translation of Alice Lovejoy’s Army Film and the Avant Garde about Czechoslovakia's Army Film studio that was responsible for some of the most politically subversive and aesthetically innovative films of the postwar Czechoslovak cinema. All the books in this offer were published in 2019–2021. You can search them here.
