Creative Futures

During the past two years, FAMU was involved in creating the project strategy and, over the course of the recent months and weeks, in the preparation of the Creative Futures consortium submission further to the call from the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) with a view to establishing a Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) for Cultural and Creative Sectors and Industries (CCSI).

Following two years filled with a huge amount of work, delivered by several people led by Head of FAMU International Jitka Hejtmanová, FAMU is taking part in a competition for potentially substantial financial support of FAMU activities. The application was submitted on 24 March. FAMU worked on the preparation on behalf of the entire AMU and, at this point, we can say that we are proud of our participation in a consortium of 50 partners from 20 countries across Europe who collaborate, share knowledge, and prepare a future change in creative industries, which will aim to support the upcoming generations of innovators and creators all over Europe. If our submission is selected (we will know this at the end of the summer), we will have an opportunity to take part in shaping CCSI in Europe in the years to come. The newly called KIC will be the ninth European community of its kind and the only one in the creative and cultural industry. Let’s keep our fingers crossed, so that our submission is found the best!
