The Summer Film School to offer a section dedicated to FAMU’s history

The Summer Film School in Uherské Hradiště will include a section on the history of FAMU for the fifth time. This year’s FAMU FILMS HISTORY 5: NORMALIZACE block was prepared in cooperation with the FAMU Films web portal, which entered into a partnership with the festival this year, as did our Faculty. The block will cover the tough ‘normalisation’ period, during which many famous authors began their creative careers. This year’s programme will offer you a selection of the most interesting student films of the era made by authors such as Emir Kusturica, Karel Smyczek, Vladimír Merta and Miroslav Balajka, and not just in the standard programming sections but also as part of cine-lectures and discussions with guests. You can meet the FAMU Films team at the Respekt Tent on 31 July to hear more about the journeys of our films and their distribution to global festivals. During the festival, visitors will also have an opportunity to compete for a FAMU Films subscription.
